Bill Ebben

I’m Bill Ebben, and I am pro-family. I'm a Catholic, a Veteran, a blue-collar union worker AND a white collar business owner, a teacher, an attorney, a father and now I’m running for Congress in Ohio to fight for working families.
My Dad worked at a paper mill to support five children. He was the greatest man I ever knew. My youngest brother was born with Cerebral Palsy, and taking care of him was a full-time commitment for my mom. My work ethic comes from my parents, and I’ve been hard at work my whole life.
I began with a paper route and I worked as a janitor cleaning toilets at a tractor factory. When I was old enough to drive, I delivered pizzas until late at night. I completed my senior year of high school while working the 3 to 11 shift at an iron foundry.
I served in the United States military just as my father did in WWII, his father did in WWI, and his grandfather in the Civil War. At the Third Army Hospital, I was promoted four times in 18 months and awarded the Army Commendation Medal.
I went on to earn a degree in Psychology then a Masters in Special Education. I'm certified to teach Learning Disabled and Emotionally Disturbed students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
After five years of teaching, I went to work for a Fortune 500 company. Within five years I was a regional manager overseeing 1/5th of the country. Today I own my own business where I get to choose which 80 hours a week I work. At night I earned my law degree.
My job has always been to solve problems, and I’m good at it. As your congressman, I will continue to solve problems.
The majority of Americans have good common sense. We are the MIGHTY MIDDLE that are being ignored by the radical far left and right, and that is why I am running. The Mighty Middle needs a voice in Congress.
I will fight, for jobs, living wages, safe work environments, great public education and reasonably priced healthcare. We need to take better care of our Veterans. I belong to the NRA, and, like many Americans, I understand the need for common sense gun control.
There is another reason I ask for your vote in the primary – I have a mission and a message that will save lives. Most politicians are afraid to talk about this, for fear of being called soft on drugs. But I'll say it. The War on Drugs is a total failure and there's no fixing it. We need to go in a completely different direction. There are other ways to deal with drugs that have been successful in other countries.
“...You’ve taken me to places I thought I’d never go. Turning me into a man that I don’t even know.”
My son wrote these lyrics shortly before he lost his life to an opioid addiction he picked up like so many others after surgery, so it’s personal for me. We’ve spent a trillion dollars and imprisoned 2.1 million Americans and the problem is still worse than ever. We are now losing more Americans each year to drug overdoses than we did in the entire Vietnam War. But, I bring a message of hope and optimism. There are solutions – to this and other problems.
I want America to be as good as it’s promise – I know it can be, but I need your vote and support so that I can continue doing what I do best – solving problems. Everyone wants the American Dream to thrive, and I want to restore the Middle Class because America does best when the middle class is large and has enough money for more than just the basics. Together, we can make a better future for ALL Americans.
